Longevity Start
Initial longevity diagnostics for adults without a diagnosed disease. In-depth blood analysis in a specialist laboratory abroad covers seven markers, which we translate into a personal metabolic protocol.
Sample collection at the clinic
In the morning, fasting, directly at our Bratislava clinic.

A preventive check-up looks for disease, and its reference ranges are set to detect it. Longevity diagnostics looks for deviations that lead to disease years beforehand. It is the difference between “within range” and “optimal”.
A doctor and biochemist assess the results together. The output is not a list of values, but a structured metabolic intervention: a personal protocol that tells you where to start.
Who the examination is suitable for
We recommend Longevity Start for adults who:
- have no diagnosed disease and want to know how quickly they are ageing while habits can still influence it
- have preventive check-up results that are “all within range” but do not feel their best
- have a family history of cardiovascular, metabolic or neurodegenerative disease
- already take supplements and want to check whether they make sense
- plan to change their diet, exercise or sleep habits and want a starting point
How it works
Blood collection
One fasting blood sample in the morning, directly at our Bratislava clinic. Both serum and erythrocytes are collected.
Laboratory analysis
Samples are processed by specialist laboratories abroad. Results are available within 2 weeks.
Joint consultation
You review the results with a doctor and biochemist together, each value in the context of the others.
Metabolic protocol
The findings form a concrete intervention plan. Follow-up measurement is usually after 6 months.
What we measure
The panel contains seven analytes interpreted in relation to one another:
- Omega-3 index: the proportion of protective omega-3 fatty acids in red blood cell membranes; reflects an average over approximately four months and is therefore more stable than a standard lipid profile
- Lipid peroxidation: whether oxidative stress is already damaging fats in cell membranes and LDL
- Nrf2: the main cellular defence switch; interpreted alongside peroxidation
- HbA1c: long-term glucose control
- Vitamin D3: stores of one of the key regulatory micronutrients
- Zonulin: a marker of intestinal barrier integrity
- TSH: a basic indicator of thyroid function
Optional extensions
Depending on the panel results, additional parameters can be purchased: mitochondrial performance, hs-CRP, homocysteine, ApoB, ferritin or LpPLA2.
Before your examination
For a smooth examination and the most accurate results, we recommend:
- come for blood collection in the morning after fasting, ideally after 8 – 12 hours without food; plain water is allowed
- do not drink coffee, sweetened or energy drinks or smoke on the morning before collection
- avoid intense physical activity the day before
- regular medication must not be stopped on your own initiative; discuss morning medication with your doctor
- bring a list of medicines and supplements you take

Who is Longevity Start for?
For adults without a diagnosed disease who want to know how quickly they are ageing while habits can still influence it. Typically, their preventive check-up results are “all within range”, they have a family history of cardiovascular, metabolic or neurodegenerative disease, or they already take supplements and want to check whether they make sense.
How do preventive check-ups differ from longevity diagnostics?
A preventive check-up looks for disease, and its reference ranges are set to detect it. Longevity diagnostics looks for deviations that lead to disease years beforehand. The difference is between “within range” and “optimal”: for example, HbA1c of 5,6 % is within range, but already outside the optimum from a longevity perspective.
What is the omega-3 index and why is it measured?
The omega-3 index expresses the proportion of protective omega-3 fatty acids in red blood cell membranes and reflects an average over approximately four months. It is more stable than a standard lipid profile, which shows only the current state.
What do Nrf2 and lipid peroxidation mean?
Lipid peroxidation shows whether oxidative stress is already damaging fats in cell membranes and LDL. Nrf2 is the main cellular defence switch. They are interpreted together: extensive damage with suppressed defence is the most important intervention target. Peroxidation alone, without Nrf2 context, does not show where to start.
Why is zonulin measured in a longevity examination?
Zonulin is a marker of intestinal barrier integrity. If the barrier leaks, inflammatory stimuli enter the bloodstream and maintain silent systemic inflammation, one of the main drivers of ageing. Elevated zonulin confirms the problem, but a normal value does not rule it out, because the barrier can leak even with normal zonulin.
How is blood collected and when will results be available?
A single fasting blood sample is taken in the morning directly at our Bratislava clinic, collecting both serum and erythrocytes. Specialist laboratories abroad process the samples. Results are available within 2 weeks and are reviewed at a joint consultation with a doctor and biochemist.
Do I need to fast before blood collection?
Yes, we recommend 8 to 12 hours without food; plain water is allowed. Do not drink coffee, sweetened or energy drinks or smoke on the morning before collection. Avoid intense physical activity the day before. Do not stop regular medication on your own initiative; discuss morning medication with your doctor.
How often does repeat measurement make sense?
Usually after 6 months. By then, it becomes clear whether the intervention has worked, and the protocol can be adjusted to the new values. A shorter interval is not meaningful because some markers, such as the omega-3 index and HbA1c, reflect an average over several months.
Does Longevity Start replace a preventive check-up?
No. It is a supplementary examination focused on ageing processes, not disease diagnosis. Continue attending preventive check-ups with your GP. Measured values support decision-making, and final decisions rest with your treating doctor.
