Weight management

A professional weight management programme for people who struggle to achieve or maintain a healthy body weight despite their own efforts. Without extreme diets or self-blame.

Treating overweight and obesity is about more than lowering the number on the scales. It is a comprehensive process requiring individual health assessment, regular monitoring and treatment adapted to each patient’s needs.

We provide a personalised programme combining medical diagnostics, appropriately indicated medication, changes to eating and exercise habits, and regular medical reviews according to the patient’s health and goals. The aim is safe weight loss and conditions for maintaining it long term.

Who the programme is suitable for

The programme is particularly suitable for adults who:

  • have overweight or obesity and struggle to achieve lasting weight loss
  • repeatedly regain weight despite efforts to change diet and lifestyle
  • have metabolic conditions or increased metabolic risk
  • have prediabetes or type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • have high blood pressure or other cardiovascular risk factors
  • have sleep disorders or suspected sleep apnoea
  • are experiencing weight changes during perimenopause or menopause
  • suspect hormonal or metabolic factors affecting their weight
  • need professional guidance for long-term lifestyle change

How it works

  1. Comprehensive initial examination

We thoroughly assess your health, body measurements, metabolic markers, lifestyle, eating habits and coexisting conditions.

  2. Individual therapeutic plan

Based on results and your goals: changes to diet, exercise and sleep, and medication if medically indicated.

  3. Regular medical reviews

We monitor weight, health parameters, treatment effectiveness and tolerability. We adjust the plan over time.

  4. Metabolic diagnostics and lifestyle support

As needed, we add laboratory tests and address nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress management.

What we examine

We tailor the scope to your health, medical history and goals. Within the programme, we may assess:

  • body weight, BMI and weight changes over time
  • muscle-to-fat ratio, waist circumference and other anthropometric parameters
  • blood pressure and cardiovascular risk factors
  • glucose metabolism and risk of prediabetes or diabetes
  • lipid profile and other metabolic health parameters
  • selected liver and kidney function parameters
  • hormonal and endocrine factors as clinically indicated
  • eating habits, physical activity and sleep
  • coexisting conditions and medicines that may affect body weight

Why weight alone is not enough

We monitor not only weight and BMI, but also muscle-to-fat ratio, waist circumference and how these values change over time. Weight alone is an insufficient measure of programme success.

Before your examination

For a smooth examination and the most accurate results, we recommend:

  • bring a list of all regular medicines and supplements
  • bring relevant previous examination results, if available
  • prepare information on your weight history and previous weight-loss attempts
  • tell the doctor about all significant diseases and health concerns
  • report any allergies and adverse reactions to medicines
  • medication for chronic conditions must not be stopped before the examination without agreement with your doctor

Frequently asked questions

Your most common questions

Answers prepared by our medical team. If something is missing, email or call us.

How does medically supervised weight loss work?

The programme starts with a comprehensive initial examination: we assess your health, body measurements, metabolic markers, lifestyle and coexisting conditions. Based on results, we prepare an individual plan that may include changes to diet, exercise and sleep, and medication if medically indicated. Regular medical reviews follow.

Who is the programme suitable for?

For adults with overweight or obesity who struggle to lose weight or maintain results despite their own efforts. It is also suitable for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep disorders, perimenopause and menopause, or suspected hormonal or metabolic causes of weight gain.

What if I have lost weight and regained it?

Repeated weight gain after dieting is the most common reason people come to us. It is usually not a lack of willpower, but metabolic, hormonal or lifestyle factors that dieting does not address. That is why the programme starts by investigating causes rather than setting a calorie target.

How does this differ from nutritional counselling?

Nutritional counselling works with diet. A doctor-led programme also addresses what influences diet: insulin resistance, thyroid function, sex hormones, sleep, medicines and coexisting conditions. It includes laboratory diagnostics and ongoing medical reviews.

Can you help with hormonal weight gain?

Yes. Hormonal factors are part of the initial examination. We assess thyroid function, sex hormones and stress-response hormones as clinically indicated. If their contribution to weight gain is confirmed, the plan takes them into account.

Do you analyse body composition?

Yes. We monitor not only weight and BMI, but also muscle-to-fat ratio, waist circumference and how these values change over time. Weight alone is an insufficient measure of programme success.

Do you prescribe weight-loss medication?

Medication is part of the programme when medically indicated, meaning justified by the patient’s health. A doctor decides whether to start it after the initial examination, and we monitor progress, effectiveness and tolerability at regular reviews.

Is the programme suitable for people with diabetes?

Yes, for patients with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. Glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity are standard parts of the initial examination. If you already see a diabetes specialist, the programme does not conflict with their treatment. Both doctors should be informed.

Do I have to exercise?

Exercise is part of the plan, but its form and intensity are tailored to health, fitness and capabilities. The aim is a realistic routine that can be sustained long term, rather than the same training plan for everyone.

What should I bring to my first visit?

A list of all regular medicines and supplements, previous examination results if available, and information about your weight history and previous weight-loss attempts. Also report allergies and adverse reactions to medicines.
