Ozone therapy
A complementary therapeutic method using medical ozone to support the body’s natural regenerative processes. We use the Ozosmart system for precise, controlled dosing.
Medical ozone supports biological processes involved in tissue regeneration and adaptation to stress. Its effects are the subject of ongoing research, particularly its influence on microcirculation, oxygen use in tissues and oxidation-reduction balance.
We view ozone therapy as part of comprehensive personalised care rather than a standalone solution. It is a complementary method, not a replacement for standard treatment, and we use it accordingly.
Who the therapy is suitable for
Following medical assessment, it may be suitable as a complementary therapy:
- for chronic pain conditions
- for selected inflammatory diseases
- for circulation disorders and ischaemic conditions
- for selected chronic wounds and impaired healing
- as supportive therapy for certain infectious conditions
- for conditions requiring support for tissue regeneration
- to support tissue oxygenation and microcirculation
- to support healing and recovery
How it works
Initial consultation
We assess your health, medical history, current concerns, medication and possible contraindications.
Planning treatment
We select a suitable form of ozone therapy, dose and recommended number of sessions.
Administration
Performed on an outpatient basis using a certified medical device. The protocol using intravenously administered ozonated saline takes approximately 25 minutes.
Recommendations and follow-up
After the procedure, you receive recommendations on fluid intake and physical activity. We monitor your body’s response and adjust the plan.
What the technology uses
Ozosmart uses medical oxygen and ozone (O₂/O₃):
- concentration range 1 – 80 μg/ml and different flow rates depending on the administration mode
- precise concentration settings for the selected therapeutic regimen
- controlled ozone exposure produces reactive molecules and lipid oxidation products that may act as signalling molecules and influence redox balance and inflammation
What we know about ozone therapy
The clinical significance of individual mechanisms depends on the specific indication and therapeutic protocol. It is a complementary method, not a replacement for standard treatment.
Contraindications and precautions
Therapy is unsuitable or requires prior consultation in the following cases:
- G6PD deficiency (favism)
- severe blood-clotting disorders and thrombocytopenia
- acute or massive bleeding
- severe cardiovascular instability and acute myocardial infarction
- acute fever or sepsis
- acute alcohol intoxication and seizures
- pregnancy
- hyperthyroidism depending on severity, haemochromatosis
- hypoglycaemia or hypocalcaemia
- ozone allergy; treatment with products containing copper or iron
An individual medical assessment is required when taking anticoagulants, insulin or other medicines.
Before your examination
For a smooth examination and the most accurate results, we recommend:
- have a medical consultation
- tell the doctor about all chronic conditions
- bring a list of regular medicines and supplements
- report blood-clotting disorders and anticoagulant use
- report diabetes and insulin use
- report thyroid conditions
- mention pregnancy or the possibility of pregnancy
- after therapy, drink enough fluids and avoid intense exertion that day

Frequently asked questions
Your most common questions
Answers prepared by our medical team. If something is missing, email or call us.
What is ozone therapy?
Ozone therapy is a complementary therapeutic method using medical ozone to support the body’s natural regenerative processes. We use the Ozosmart system for precise, controlled dosing. We always include therapy based on a professional health assessment as part of an individual treatment plan.
For which conditions is ozone therapy used?
Following medical assessment, it may be suitable for chronic pain conditions, selected inflammatory diseases, circulation disorders and ischaemic conditions, chronic wounds and impaired healing, as supportive therapy for certain infectious conditions, and conditions requiring support for tissue regeneration.
How is medical ozone administered?
The doctor determines the route, concentration and dose according to the indication and your health. Among other methods, the clinic uses an intravenous ozonated saline protocol. Administration takes approximately 25 minutes under healthcare supervision.
Is ozone therapy supported by science?
The effects of medical ozone are the subject of ongoing research, particularly its influence on microcirculation, oxygen use in tissues and oxidation-reduction balance. It is a complementary method, not a replacement for standard treatment, and we use it accordingly.
How many sessions are needed?
The number of sessions is determined individually according to the indication and response to treatment. The doctor sets it when preparing the therapeutic plan and adjusts it over time.
What are the contraindications?
Ozone therapy is particularly contraindicated in G6PD deficiency, severe blood-clotting disorders, acute bleeding, cardiovascular instability, acute fever, pregnancy, haemochromatosis and ozone allergy. A doctor assesses suitability at the initial consultation, considering medical history, current concerns, medication and possible contraindications.
Does it hurt, and what is recommended afterwards?
Administration is comparable to a standard infusion. Afterwards, we recommend sufficient fluid intake and avoiding intense physical exertion that day. Staff will give you precise instructions according to the form of administration.
