Neurology

Comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of nervous system diseases with an individual approach. Our aim is accurate diagnosis, effective treatment and prevention of neurological problems.

We address a wide range of neurological problems: from headaches and migraines, dizziness and back pain to more serious conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

We emphasise an individual approach, thorough diagnostics and clear explanations of your health and options for further care.

When to see a neurologist

We recommend an examination:

  • for recurring or worsening headaches and migraines
  • for dizziness and balance disorders
  • for numbness or weakness in the limbs
  • for speech difficulties
  • for worsening memory and concentration
  • for seizures
  • for back pain and sensory disturbances

How it works

  1. Medical history

The doctor takes a detailed medical history and assesses your symptoms.

  2. Clinical neurological examination

A standard examination of nervous system function.

  3. Additional examinations

Depending on the findings, the doctor may recommend further examinations.

  4. Explanation and plan

A clear explanation of your health and recommendations for the next steps.

Our neurology team

Neurological care is led by:

  • MUDr. Christína Lilová, lead neurologist. She focuses on comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and long-term follow-up of patients with neurological concerns.
  • Prof. MUDr. Stanislav Šutovský, PhD., professor of neurology specialising in neurodegenerative diseases, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. He has long worked at the 1st Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University and University Hospital Bratislava; he also gained experience at Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg.

Early dementia diagnosis

Early diagnosis of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease is one of our team’s specialisms. Examination includes assessment of cognitive function, medical history and further tests as indicated. The earlier a change is detected, the more options remain open.

Medical emergency

For sudden signs of stroke (sudden weakness or paralysis on one side of the body, facial drooping, speech or vision problems) call the emergency number 155, not the outpatient clinic.

Before your examination

For a smooth examination and the most accurate results, we recommend:

  • no referral is required
  • bring previous medical reports, if available
  • bring imaging examinations and laboratory results
  • prepare a list of regular medication
